Gents, as much as I would prefer to go with sliders, nerf bars have won out for now (at least until my kids are old enough to climb in).

My van is still languishing in OH awaiting shipment. However, I'll be at Extreme Off-Road this week for my Jeep. I'll talk to them about the interest I've seen here in the sliders.

I'm thinking the differences in wheel base should be no factor since the goal is to protect the body from wheel well to wheel well vice tire to tire. So unless someone has opened up their wheel well...
