I called SMB West and while they said what Seth pointed out above happened in a few instances, since mine are old?? (2005) they are not covered by a warranty and ARB Old Man Emu will not cover them....

So in preparation for a trip this week I was crawling under the van today and noticed that my passenger side rear shock absorber's top stud sheered off and the shock was just sitting to the side.
