Greg - that's a great idea to add the relay on to an ignition source, switched of course! I could really make something complex out of something that is supposed to be automatic. It would at least...

You are correct about the low draw required for the unit to monitor the voltages; however, the draw becomes significant once the solenoid is energized connecting the house and starter batteries.
