Re: Land Shuttle Endeavor

Thanks everyone.

Rockbender, I used vinyl T-molding and bead welt on the panel edges. I thought the T-molding was going to be easier to install than pre-finished edge banding, but I think it's a...

Re: Land Shuttle Endeavor

The galley took the most vacillating, planning, and work. I'm pretty happy with the way it came out. If I had more time and money, I probably would have included another drawer or two. But I like the...

Re: Land Shuttle Endeavor

Well, it's been a long time since I last posted. Luckily, I've got some progress to show for it. With as much time as has passed, I wish I were showing the finished product, but I've got half the...

Re: Land Shuttle Endeavor

I forgot to mention that I've named my van and renamed this thread to "Land Shuttle Endeavor." The name reflects the appearance of my van, honors the now defunct space shuttle, and acknowledges the...

Land Shuttle Endeavor

It's been a long time since my last update. I was out of town on business for a couple weeks, but before I left I did complete my floor. I was going to post before leaving, but the site was down.

Re: My 1994 SMB project.

Here's another minor update. I'm wrapping up odds and ends before I install my floor. Yesterday, I cut the hole and lid for the under-floor storage compartment. Made a template, routed to the depth...

Window removal and reinstall

After getting that subfloor in last weekend, it was really easy to see how much water was leaking in through my windows. I was hoping to do the floor this weekend, but I don't want any moisture...

Re: My new 1994 SMB project.

Jage, your comment reminded me that I forgot to mention that I have left the subfloor around the sunken galley rough cut. This way I can cut it to match the footprint of my cabinets. They didn't do...

Subfloor and insulation

I used the old, rotten, disgusting subfloor one last time as a template for my new subfloor. And then it went in the dumpster.

There is no more funky smell in my van. Of course there's almost...

Last of the onion peeling

After Jage's comment (but perhaps jinx is a better term) I spent two days in 3d modeling software seeing if I could convert this van to an EB50 layout. Thankfully, I couldn't figure out a way to do...

Removal of wall panels and carpet, part II

The Starcool unit worked before I tore into this thing. But when I took the cabinet off of it, I noticed that the housing around this copper connection was completely cracked. The cabinet panel next...

Removal of wall panels and carpet

Took an unscheduled break from working at home today for a couple van related activities First, after reading all of your responses, I realized how important this forum is to my project in terms of...

Van is almost gutted

This weekend, I removed all of the cabinets from my van, carefully labeling as I went so that I can rebuild using the old panels as templates. I discovered lots of interesting things along the way....

Re: My new 1994 SMB project.

Thanks everyone for your replies.

I got the van back from the mechanic last week after instructing them to tell me everything that it need. Luckily, the only thing they found were some leaky...

Land Shuttle Endeavor

Last week, I made my first posts to this forum 3 days before flying to Eugene, OR to purchase my first SMB sight unseen. That was a little crazy. The good news is that I paid $6200 for a 1994 Dodge...
