It’s a bug catcher, no other downside so far. I've had it mounted there for a few years now. I carry the base locked in the winch hole. Some day I will most likely buy the wet suite cover.

Hey, I use the Aluminess mounts on the front of my bumper.. they work great, I'll get you a picture posted soon.
