Well, I had assumed that it was required in order to fit the bigger calipers on the dynatrac prorock60. That's what Oldbonesclimber did but he sourced everything from dynatrac. Excellent write-up...

But you'll still need 17" wheels unless you want to go with OEM steelies. SMB is now putting the F550 brakes on the few E350s they are doing and that requires 20" wheels.
