Interesting. I would think Lava would be terrifying on a jet ski. It's plenty big enough in an 18' raft. My only flip was in Lava. Still, I was on the river ~120 days in 1996 on 6 different trips...

No, it doesn't apply to Torroweap although the road in could be a bit greasy that time of the year. Just a guess but the vehicle thing is mainly to keep the big RVs out. I wouldn't worry about it.
