Mine makes the noise in 2 wheel drive on the road. Sounds like a front tire rubbing but its not. Maybe a brake pad?

My 05 makes the same noise. You say it comes from the rear end dif ? It sure sounds like the front to me, just like yours, from a stop a hard turn either way I get a rubbing noise.
