Hey Mike....you didn't walk far enough to actually see what's left of the Barker Ranch. There are buildings and remenents of the compound just beyond the dump site. It burned a couple of years ago...

Thanks all for the weather/road conditions. The nice thing about this DV adventure is that if one route is too hazardous we can pick another. I'm not above turning around either.

I'll be right behind you by about an hour. I always take 37 to 80-780-680-580-5. Change drivers every 2 hours. You saw the suggestion to cross over on Stockdale Highway at Bakersfield.
