Well I'm not worried about transporting across most state lines Eric; it's those special regions with specific gun laws that can cause trouble. Usually a unloaded handgun in a locked container...

I agree. Lots of guides starting to carry those....

I agree. Lots of guides starting to carry those. Most are running an aftermarket barrel that can take higher power loads than the stock piece.

I've found (here in CA anyway) that the sow lets...

I've found (here in CA anyway) that the sow lets quite a bit of room between her and any cubs from time to time like when feeding. I got up really close to a few cubs and when the sow saw me so close...

So true especially in more remote regions where animals don't see a daily influx of tourists. Spray's better than nothing I guess. I know a lot of people carry something other than just bear spray....

Oh they'll nail you in Yosemite for improper food storage in camp! I think what I've seen of lately over the last several years are people blocking the road to get out of their vehicles and walking...

I guess I understand why they do not allow bear spray in Yosemite. Seems it's considered a weapon but I'm thinking Yosemite park managers also take into effect how stupid people are around the park's...

California State flag has a grizzly on it but none in the wild here anymore.

I haven't gone back to the other post yet but I agree there is a huge difference in the attitudes between black and brown bears. I also believe there are differences between backcountry bears and...
