Re: My new Promaster 3500, High Roof, Long body, Sportsmobil

Here are some pictures of the underside in case anyone is interested. The pictures were taken when I got the first oil change in California.

This first one shows the big battery box that is just...

Re: My new Promaster 3500, High Roof, Long body, Sportsmobil

All good questions.

I tend to drive the speed limit but never get over 70 even when the limit is higher.

My trip B had the last 10,000 miles on it and said 15.7 mpg. That included all the...

Yes I do owe the forum an update. I have been from N.Y. to Calif. On Rt. 90 and back or Rt. 80.

Here is a picture of the van in the Redwoods of Northern Calif.

Re: My new Promaster 3500, High Roof, Long body, Sportsmobil

Here is what I think I have learned about the Promaster locks.

I believe the Promaster has a chipped key. So the key fob needs to be close in order for it to start.

Only the drivers door and...

Re: My new Promaster 3500, High Roof, Long body, Sportsmobil

It does seem to be able to do the job. Remember my van is White, only one small window added by Sportsmobile, and good insulation including in the floor. I could go for a smaller unit if it was...

Re: My new Promaster 3500, High Roof, Long body, Sportsmobil

Chance,

I think it is the standard 13.500 with the heat strip. The manual they gave me covers Dometic units ranging from 11,000 to 15,000 so I went looking for the model number. After removing the...

Re: My new Promaster 3500, High Roof, Long body, Sportsmobil

Chance,
Here is a little Roof AC data for you.
The roof AC fan running thru the inverter draws 20 amps from the batteries.
When the compressor starts it goes to 200 amps and drops back to 150...

Re: My new Promaster 3500, High Roof, Long body, Sportsmobil

Chance. I agree that the "escape with the motor running trick", isn't the best but it will have to do until I can figure out a better way.

So far the Dash and Rear AC have had no problem keeping...

Re: My new Promaster 3500, High Roof, Long body, Sportsmobil

From another forum I learned how to leave the Dodge Promaster with the doors locked and the motor running.

The trick is to lock youself in with the key in the ignition and the motor running. Then...

Re: My new Promaster 3500, High Roof, Long body, Sportsmobil

I believe "remote start" is offered as an option that I didn't get. The problem with the standard "remote starts" is that they time out after a short time and shut down..

I'm looking for a way to...

Re: My new Promaster 3500, High Roof, Long body, Sportsmobil

Sportsmobile calls the beds "Dinette L". When made into two single beds each should be 30" wide. They can be made any length you want. I asked for "No Buttons" and was told that they don't use...

Re: My new Promaster 3500, High Roof, Long body, Sportsmobil
