Re: Losing a lot of water through overflow while driving?

LOL, yeah it took me a while to find one :b6:

Going camping in the Mendocino National Forest this weekend so we'll see how it goes. I'll top off again before we leave, and lose whatever water...

Re: Losing a lot of water through overflow while driving?

Okay, so I was able to raise the hose up and get a little angle in it where it exits the tank. Haven't tried it out yet but it looks promising...and free.

I crawled under the van to look and make...

Re: Losing a lot of water through overflow while driving?

Good question. Never thought about that. In my case, it's probably the seven gallons of water constantly flowing out while I'm driving that keeps things from entering the system :m4:

Seriously...

Re: Losing a lot of water through overflow while driving?

Well, that would be a very easy and free thing to try. I'll give it a shot tomorrow. There's a bunch of silicone where to overflow goes through the floor, but if this idea works, it'd be cheap to...

Re: Losing a lot of water through overflow while driving?

Below are some more detailed pictures of my setup. Not sure if installing a valve is the way to go - it'd be very hard to access without removing the bed and the consequences of forgetting to open it...

Re: Losing a lot of water through overflow while driving?

So I can install what amounts to a miniature version of a household plumbing 'P-trap', in the same diameter as the SMB hoses, in this area to fix the problem?

And while I've got the picture up,...

Re: Losing a lot of water through overflow while driving?

My overflow is at the upper right corner of the tank in the photo - right in front of the wheel hump by the seatbelt. Don’t have any connections or hoses at the other end of the tank near the fridge...

Losing a lot of water through overflow while driving?

1997 with an 18-20g tank. I fill up and by the time we reach our destination (normally 2-3 hours) I’m always down by almost 1/3. If there were leaks anywhere, I assume I would notice. Definitely no...
