Re: Help Isolating an Electrical Gremlin

Several trips and the Blue Sea separator with remote switch is working great. I see why they went to these as standard equipment.

To anyone that has the old surepower separator, the switch is...

Re: Help Isolating an Electrical Gremlin

Well, I don't know if I killed my Gremlin, but I now have a nice, much cooler (temperature-wise) battery separator thanks to DaveB and Scalf77's recommendations. Big props to Greg for his excellent...

Re: Help Isolating an Electrical Gremlin

Oh yeah, his detailed video was clear. Generally speaking I'm more inclined to replace the separator with a Blue Sea rather than try to jury rig and work around a part that isn't performing how I...

Re: Help Isolating an Electrical Gremlin

So, it is clear that the 1.1 -1.2 draw that I was seeing was the Sure Power staying "activated" for a pretty long amount of time AFTER I disconnected the shore power from the system.

I'm...

Re: Help Isolating an Electrical Gremlin

This is the first time I've ever really had the need to rely on the Link 10 for any meaningful data and once I figured out that it was hooked up wrong, I now know why I was getting all the strange...

Re: Help Isolating an Electrical Gremlin

Yeah, it makes sense. With our primary amp, the "built -in" amplifier for the stereo is bypassed and only signal is sent down the line to the amp. No power, no music. With a secondary sub amp,...

Re: Help Isolating an Electrical Gremlin

We have one amp that powers the sub and the other channels. The idea of a switch on that amp to limit the draw in times when we are just sitting around is a good idea.

Re: Help Isolating an Electrical Gremlin

Well, like so many electrical gremlins, I just had an unusual result.

I went out and disconnected the Aux Radio switch but soon realized that since I had pulled the fuse for that, it probably...

Re: Help Isolating an Electrical Gremlin

Only one house battery and I will try to remove the negative terminal on the separator and start up. Doesn't seem to make sense, unless the isolator went bad? Wouldn't that be the only reason for...

Re: Help Isolating an Electrical Gremlin

We do have the radio switch. It is obviously off but I can try to disconnect it and just be sure there is no leak coming back through it. Our radio system pulls a big current and I can see the jump...

Help Isolating an Electrical Gremlin

Hey all, been a while since I've been on. I have read through all the archives and cannot find any help for my particular brand of frustration.

We got awesome results from our first house...
