Yes, very few 4x4 vans up here and SMB's are even more rare. I think it has something to do with the way Ford/SMB registers their VIN's with Transport Canada.

I'd be in for a Van Isl trip! I've only been to all the common areas of the island and haven't really had much opportunity to explore the north end at all.

I definitely agree about radio comms! And...

I definitely agree about radio comms! And especially the Baofeng. I always carry a few with me on road trips. They're SO much better than FRS or CB.
