Oh, and just because there's a PH, doesn't mean that there's a PH bed. Not a deal-breaker IMO, but might be worth asking.

If you're onboard with this one, and given they recognize there's a problem, they may be willing to take a $10K-$11K offer which is probably more than they'll get at auction, and give you more margin...

Makes me wonder if it towed heavy a lot. Then again, there are some problems that can get misdiagnosed as trans problems. I'd commission a reputable local mechanic to check it out.
