Not directly SMB related, but one of the biggest cooling improvements (both ECT and EOT) made on my Excursion was having the fan-clutch replaced. I didn't even realize it wasn't working, but a shop...

I just had the factory transmission cooler on my '01 Excursion (7.3L w/4R100 trans) replaced with a factory transmission cooler from a 6.0L, which is something like three times the size of the stock...
