Cle Elum Camping

So it is mothers day weekend. I have secretly bought a gift for my wife that is to be delivered to our house and installed on Sat. My mom is watching our children and we have a green light to blitz for the weekend while her Surprise is delivered.

Well I know my wife, so I had planned to get a nice hotel in the city and prepared for 2 solid days of shopping. In fact I had already planned on what books to read and everything.

So Friday morning rolls around and she asks what were doing for the weekend and I told her, well my mom offered to watch the kids so we can do anything you want, here is what I was planning for you. She then responded, with the dream phrase.... I would really rather get into the woods. I was not just shocked I actually was sure there was some type of trick going on. After about an hour of arguing that I wanted the weekend to be for her she convinced me that she really did want to go camping. I quickly packed the Rig and we blasted out to Cle Elum.

We had a great time, drove up to Fortune Creek which was closed and still snowed in and then up to cooper lake. Of course we had great fires. The one thing that did strike me really odd was that when I go out with other Guys they are always eager to see me get stuck, try to break things, or just tackle the hardest obstacle.... My wife was not. It took everything I had just to get a few passes on some quick side missions but hey beggars can't be choosers. It was mothers day and I was BBQ'n and Camping with my wife alone in the sun!

Of course she complained all night about the fact that she kept sliding off the Bed, But really can I find a good spot for Camp OR WHAT??

Just a joke of course we found a nice river side spot to light a small fire and relax without the kids.

She even let me kayak on the way out there, I have a feeling Fathers day is going to be more like mothers day should have been

Re: Cle Elum Camping

Once you get past the burnt hair flaming coyotes are actually quite pleasant campfire fuel.

As I recall, ProfessorPaddle + Campfire = longer night than I expected.

Looks like a nice Mother's Day!

Looking forward to rolling with you!

French Cabin Creek Rd. Area down by the Rio.
