We jumped in the deep end of the SMB pool !!!

Hello,
We did it !!! We just purchased our 2014 E350 5.4L.
It's heading to Quigleys now and when that's complete back to Austin for some bling.
Does anyone have any suggestions or warnings?
This is my first attempt to post anything. So apologies if it comes out wrong.

Thanks !!

Awesome! What layout are you going with for your SMB build?

Awesome, and super sweet layout. Hmm, makes me wish in some ways I had gotten an EB van instead of an RB!

Re: We jumped in the deep end of the SMB pool !!!

I'd suggest to run it through the mill and do some camping close to where the conversion is done if you don't live close by. Some stuff fails quickly and being able to return for tweaking is better than driving hours back to the shop. Might be a good idea to video the technical stuff if need be. The quick orientation can be overwhelming for some new owners. It was for me. If you have an electric pop top, make sure the hooks are always clear. I turn the back one sideways. Maybe the design has changed but I found it was easy for the cover to push the hook causing it to engage as the top lifts. I did oil, coolant and diff oil changes at 1000 miles... maybe overkill cause I've never done that on any new vehicle I've bought in the past but I never spent so much on a brand new vehicle either.

Sure would like to see some pics when you get it back.

I can't wait. The van is white. I want it to look good like many of the others I've seen on this site. Just looking for a few different toys to put on it.

She's ready !! I drove our SMB home only to discover that she starts twitching at aroun 60 mph. Wants to wander into the other lanes.

Re: We jumped in the deep end of the SMB pool !!!

Twitching? As in vibration in the steering? I'd look that over closely. I did follow SMB's suggestion to re-torque the lugs after 50 miles. I will say that at least with my 285/75 MT's, they drifted a bit at highway speeds for about 500 miles.
