From Sportsmobile to the ER2K EarthRoamer Prototype.

Hi all, I'm a used to be sportsmobile owner who eventually ended up with the prototype earthroamer build known as the ER2K. In case anyone was interested I thought I'd throw a quick post up.

This is the my new blog http://exploremoremobile.blogspot.mx/

and a link to what I hope becomes the Expedition Portal discussion here. http://www.expeditionportal.com/foru...-Show-and-Tell

By the way, I'd still have a sportsmobile if I had three things. A shower, a bed that didn't have to be made every day and NOT a porta potti.

Cheers, Tom.

Always loved that rig, congrats. Loved reading the stories and visiting the ER website back in the day.

Well put Tom. Those are the same limiting factors I look at as an on the road full time type style vehicle. I might feel the same after I retire and want to do a more full time type adventuring. There are some pros to vans such as overall height and the ability to utilize the front as part of the conversion space but I do like the thought put into those. Thanks for the link...I'll watch your adventures.

I am glad someone got her. I had a deal made, but the previous owner was really bad on getting back to me. Don't regret it, but it did have some nice features.

Just read through your blog... very nice work on the repairs and upgrades! Everything looks really good. Amazing that the previous owner basically let a rig like that sit for many years without using it.

Thank you Brian. Unfortunately the previous owner had some serious family health issues to deal with so the truck basically sat for the 5 years in Toronto. He's a good guy and had real plans but it just didn't work out.
tom.
