Re: Ready for OBX...

I wanna go but am having some medical issues like falling asleep at the wheel. Some drug interaction we have not tracked down yet. Took SO to OX and she was not into all the guy stuff so I did not get to spend much time really talking to vendors other than SMB. It would be nice to check them all out. Maybe I'll ride the GS as I have no problems riding that other than a sore ass.

Full moon while we were down. Awesome beaches down in Avon. Love OBX.

Side note for anyone heading near or through Manteo: Stop by my fraternity brother's new distillery.

Outer Banks Distilling: http://outerbanksdistilling.com/

They just opened and they are making Kill Devil Rum.

Re: Ready for OBX...

OBX is one of my FAVORITE places in the USA!!! When you drive on the north beach MAKE SURE TO AIR DOWN TO 15-20PSI!!!! I got my MDX stuck in the sand before we got Sporty…had driven on it before, but forgot to air down (yes extremely absent minded STUPID)…luckily the dude on the beach (locals) took pitty on a IOWA license plate and helped us before the $400 tow/rescue!! Plus we are very nice, humble people admitting my stupidity…the wife was agreeing ..anyway, take it all in and best shelling is in the middle of the Natl Seashore HWY 12, at the PeaIsland area about two or so miles before Rodanthe…Park on the road and walk over the dunes to the seashore. Walk either way and see some real beauty shells…we even found a boogie board, frisbee, sand pales, sunglasses all kinds of interesting junk! Have a blast and make sure to stop at the Wright Brothers field…great moment in time captured with the four big rocks representing their first tries before they actually flew (#4 try) over a football field…cool…have FUN!!! But with a Sportsmobile, even Walmart is fun eh!?!
