NEW OWNER!

I have been hanging around the forum for years and my wife and I were camping out of our Honda Element (great but small). I found a great deal on a '93 Ford chassis with the guacho walk-through layout and it was very clean so we jumped on it...

Nice and clean. I like the awning ... how does it attach to the van?

Re: NEW OWNER!

Congrats on the new van. It looks great for a 93, someone took really good care of it.

Re: NEW OWNER!

Thank you!

The awning is actually from Bus Depot. It is the new, larger size. It has three clips that connect to the rain rail.

I saw a few others on the forum that were using this awning as an alternative to the bolt on. It is also very affordable.

We have used the van three weeks in a row already: camping, a field party, and a bachelor party. Looking forward to some music festivals this summer!

On a side note, my buddy liked it so much, we did some searches and we are flying north next week to pick up his '89 EB Dodge Ram with a similar gaucho setup.

Salivan, I have one barely used and am hoping to add an awning in the next couple of months. I'll sell you mine when I do if you're looking, but It will probably be late summer. I need to use what I've got for a couple of upcoming trips.

Costs to consider: Fiamma, Carefree, etc., = $1000 approx.
Bus depot (awning shown) = $119 approx.

Re: NEW OWNER!

86scotty ... thanks for the offer. But if I get an Busdepot awning I'll probably go with the 11 X 8, and soon, as I'm hoping for a trip to Alaska for this Summer. I like the awning as, amount other assets, it could be mounted on either side of the van. I have been using a Parawing, and it's fine for some areas, as you can put it up remote from the van; like over a picnic table. But it's really big and can also have some issues in the wind.

Re: NEW OWNER!

Nice looking rig. I'm not one for multi color paint schemes but that one looks super nice and the wheels look great. Enjoy.
