Popping your top and watching a movie at the drive-in sounds like an awesome idea. Bring the kids/pets, post up on the top bunk, bring your own food and drinks. Shoot, lay in your PJs if you wanted.
I'd imagine you would have to park in the back row to not block others view.
There's 2 places that have decent reviews. Montclair and City of Industry.
Has anyone tried this?
How would we be received if we popped the top and were in the back row?
Any interest for a meet up at the drive-in theater?
James Bond Skyfall is calling.
See you at the movies.

Great idea! Gonna have to try that. With a 2 year old, it's our only option if we wanna watch a movie other than at home. Let us know how it works out...

Hey I would love to meet up. Unfortunately, we live far away from each other. Last year My wife and I went to the sunset theatre in San Luis Obispo and backed in. We kept the top down but opened the back doors and cranked the volume on the radio. I had beer and she had wine and we shared popcorn, blankets, and other goodies. I had my sunflower seeds and I was happy. It was great. And there weren't a ton of people there so having it blasting wasn't an issue.

Thanks for the warning! Be sure to tell us BEFORE you go and where....so I can be somewhere else!
Don't blame you Jeffrey...but so far I wouldn't trade this great experience for anything. Growing up w a father who owns an SMB has got to be the coolest!

They have drive-in theaters where I grew up, but not in any of the place where I've lived as an adult - I am surprised to see that they do exist in the rest of the country.

I thought about taking my SMB to the drive-in this summer, too, but figured popping the top would be a no-no. But, good idea about parking in the back row!
Surprisingly, the oldest drive-in theater in the USA is right here in Pennsylvania, about an hour north of Philadelphia: http://www.shankweilers.com/

Meh, it's OK. Makes one a bit strange, or so I've been told...

Jeffery,
Don't worry, the kid will be quieter than Dave's snoring!
