Bears in Prescott N F

Driving from Prescott to Jerome AZ, I headed to Mingus Road, a scenic route

I stopped to take pictures

Suddenly in the middle of the road, I saw a bear with her two cubs. Mother bear immediately climbed the cliff, followed by the little ones, but they kept falling down because the soil was very loose.

Finally the cubs made it up hill.

Mother bear seemed worried for her offspings.

It was a tough climb for the cubs.

"Come on, you can do it!"

Mama bear stared at me. Of course I was in my SMB shooting the pics thru the windshield.

Cubs got the the top

Finally the family was back together and got lost in the wilderness.

Use to live in Prescott in the 70's. Forgot all about that road. Your photos brought back fond memories. Never had a bear encounter there, congratulations.

Great report! I also saw a big male in Yosemite last week but it was twenty minutes after sunset, so there was not enough light to take pictures...

Re: Bears in Prescott N F

Looks like the little guys were struggling to make it up the dirt bank. Great pictures.
