Anybody looking to peddle a Mt Bike this weekend?

This is a last minute plan to ride Mt hilliard up off Hwy 2 right by Newcombs Restaurant.

What I plan is to ride with a friend from Rosanida saddle to Chilao and points I really don't know.

We will PROBABLE start around 9 then ride tell tired.

I do plan on boondock camping at the saddle or at Horseflats camp right below but that depends on the ranger and if anybody else shows up.

Directions

From Pasadena Hwy 2 to Highway past Newcombs restaurant then left on santa clara divide road ( PST crosses the hwy ) then follow that past horse flats( turns into single lane road) and come to Rosanida saddle see Van. RIDE

let me know if you are interested and I will have the radio on. You just need to let me know what radio you will use CB channel 2 HAM 146.460 or FRS 2

OK so none of you wanted to ride on saturday. I was able to camp in my spot with not a sole around and did locate a new spot that is a little out of the way but real hidden with only a ok view. So this is the reason for the ride and we ended up doing it twice just because its so dam much fun. [youtube:2gvvuo3m]

Nice trail and nice footage, especially the last half when you guys got some speed. I would've loved to join you if it weren't for the commute.

Second run was way faster then the first. Most of it is kinda technical and will hurt you quick and this being the first time down it with a full rigid bike I did hold back.

its always funny how it really does not look steep or loose.

One funny thing is we passed that group of riders twice on the same trail? Must have done a bunch of do overs.

Yeah, I've always marveled at how it's impossible to show any kind of grade with a camera, but that looks like wicked technical trail. I would love to attempt it someday!

Mescal. Lots of fun. I just picked up a 29r to complement my Turner 5 spot. I think one of these would be fun as well. Saw the review on Expedition Portal.
