Yes, agreed, good spots down there. I camped there years ago on my motorcycle in mid-November. It was a bit chilly (somewhere around 0). I froze my a$$ off.
But I was up early and rode out to the rim, watched the sunrise over the canyon by myself (lodge and everything else was closed). It was both awesome and epic, in the true senses of those two very overused words.
