Whitefish/Kalispell MT boondocking?

I'm in the Whitefish/Kalispell area and need to hang out for a couple or few days, but also need to be near cell service. I tried the state park in Whitefish but they're full up. I drove some of the forest service land surrounding town and it looks promising but also has lots of private property signs, so not really sure if that would work for boondocking. Anyone familiar with the area have any suggestions? Thanks!

Re: Whitefish/Kalispell MT boondocking?

Just following up in case it is useful to anyone...

Took a drive up to Tally Lake USFS campground today and it is nice, remote, with campsites spread out. It looks like there are a few (4-5?) nice boondock campsites between Tally Lake and Star Meadow Road. No cell service so it doesn't really work for me this time but I would camp there otherwise.

Camped in town at the Whitefish Lake State Park. Nice, small park right on Whitefish Lake but I wouldn't recommend it unless you like the sound, and rumble, of riding on a freight train all night, and day. The one good thing about the campground though is that it is within biking distance to the very nice Whitefish Trail mountain biking trails. Don't ride it during a thunderstorm though...

Cheers
