Drove to Little Redfish Lake (near Stanley, Idaho) on Friday morning to do a little kayaking and photography. I have kayaked most of the lakes in the Stanley area but never Little Redfish. I had no plans except to relax, explore the lake on the kayak and take pictures. Little Redfish is small and doesn't allow motorized boats so it is a perfect lake for kayaks.
I camped at Chinook Bay campground at the north end of the lake. Chinook Bay has only 13 sites so it was quiet.
The YURT at camp site #12.
Friday night I took a lap around the lake and spotted momma and her two little fawns.
Saturday morning on my first paddle there were two osprey out fishing. Most of the photos were a little far away but I got to watch them dive and fish. These next four photos were of one of the osprey as he (she) was stopping to rest on a lake side snag before taking off again. I was fortunate to be fairly close.
Keeping a close eye on me before taking off.
Just after sunset on Saturday night. Taken from the campground looking south at the Sawtooths.
Sunrise on Sunday morning. Same location at the night before.
Looking south from the kayak about a half hour after the previous photo. The lake was beautiful that morning. There was a little mist rising from the surface early.
Paddling back to camp, the fog settled in over the lake. It was completely quiet and peaceful and the lake was like glass.
It was a great weekend and a good getaway. Thanks for letting me share the pictures with you.
