with "HayVan" from Indiana to Oregon

Hi there,

we arrived thursday at smb north. Nancy picked us up at Fort Wayne.

Then I got my van. A '08 E350 EB SMB 2WD you see here:

I called it HayVan which means "animal" in turkish language as my wife is of turkish Origin.

They showed us everything inside and outside of the van. In Germany i just could See one before and have never driven One.

HayVan is to be converted to 4x4 in Oregon. So we got on our way yesterday at noon and made it up to 20 miles West of St. Louis. Not Bad!

Today we started early. Through hours of rain. Finally it stopped raining after Kansas City.

We came Until Goodland east of Denver.

Tomorrow we plan a little tourist approach to the Rockies. We want to drive the I70 and then US9 and US40 via Kremmling and Steamboat Springs in Direction of Saltlake City. Not all the way probably. See how far we get.

I will continue that if you are interested. Perhaps with some more pics.

We are Open for suggestions of how to drive and what to See on our way to portland. But we just have some days to get there.

Philipp

If you are on I-70, a short trip down the 191 puts you in Moab. Well worth the drive, very cool downtown. If you are short on time, take a quick spin through Arches national park just before you get to Moab.

Re: with "HayVan" from Indiana to Oregon

Hi

After about 600 miles we arrived in Moab. The landscape got nicer and nicer.

Short before Moab a 4x4 SMB (white. V10?) passed by. (Are you here??). Nice sound!

First Part in direction of denver.

Then we went up in the rockies. Quite Impressing. Snow on the mountains but not on the I70. Had a Nice microwave snack. Thanks to the onan generator running.

Then we followed the US128 to Moab. What a scenic drive in the perfect light!! Sorry to post just iPhone pics. The ones from the camera are much nicer.

Tomorrow we visit the arches NP and dead Horse Point. Then we Head to SLC.

In the end we are not here for tourism. Hayvan has to get to Quadvan!! still some miles!!

I will Tell You about what follows.

If you have any suggestions (Moab to Portland) please Tell me. If anyone lives on the track and wants to meet feel free to write.

Philipp

PS. Did I mention HayVan is running great? It does!
