Swapping Tops

Ok, the wait is over! Finally have the van up at Colorado Camper Van for the top swap. My old top is getting shipped out to checksicks in WA, the lucky winner of being the first to reply. While I was not at the shop for the removal, here's some pic's of the van topless....

New top awaiting paint and finish..

Old top off....

Lights....

Re: Swapping Tops

Thanks for the pics. Interesting.

What's the fabric at the top? From the penthouse? If so, I diddn't realize it went down that far.

Re: Swapping Tops

CCV tops pop up higher, you can actually sit up while on the top bunk! Crazy! a little deceiving from the pic as the fiberglass isn't mounted yet, but the top sits over the metal frame you see, and it might be that the frame is tweaked over to one side making the one side of the frame go higher. Anyway, will make more sense when things are mounted up, I'll add some more pics as things get put together. Should be put together and painted by wed next week. Might head up mon or tues as well to check progress.

Re: Swapping Tops

Yes, they have been back in their house for a bit. The new shop down in Loveland is much more convenient to get to though, and for parts runs!

Re: Swapping Tops

Can't wait to see the finished product. The CCV tops have so much room both vertically and horizontally.

Re: Swapping Tops

Hi REF. I am brand new to the forum so forgive me if I'm being too direct. Still trying to get the hang of it. Your top looks like it is going to be awesome. I am in Golden, CO and was lucky enough to be "allowed" finally to purchase a van. Got a 2009 E-350 EB that I am looking to do a full conversion on. I wanted to ask you about your experience with CCV. I'd rather stay local and keep the $ in state, and also not have to drive it many many miles for the top. Could you message me and perhaps we could talk? Jesse
