Looks interesting. After I get this new van and money is tight I may have to buy it and try it out.

Re: Ebay Awning? Anyone?

I think that is an exact clone of the ARB, CVT, and probably several other awnings. Just FYI, you can get an ARB for about $50 more on AutoAnything, or for that price exactly if you want one of the shorter ones. I went with the CVT and couldn't be happier, it's very well made. Don't forget you'll spend almost that much again for the proper brackets, unless you can make something.

Re: Ebay Awning? Anyone?

At $190 shipped.....I couldn't resist. I'll let you guys know how it is.

I need to call Van Specialties today and get a set of brackets on order. I have a set of the SMB brackets but I can't see drilling 3 holes in the van when for $150 I can get something that will mount without holes. Would you guys do the same?

Re: Ebay Awning? Anyone?

Quick question for you on your new CVT awning....

Is the bag removable?

Reason I ask is that I really dislike the look of all the bags I've looked at. They all have logos that bother me or are just the wrong color. I'm good with a sewing machine and was thinking of replacing the bag on whatever awning I wind up getting with a bag sewn out of something like VX21 or a similar fabric.

Thanks,

BB

Re: Ebay Awning? Anyone?

No, the bag is permanently mated to the aluminum back wall, which directly bolts to your mounting brackets. I don't see how it could be removed, but you might if you're willing to dismantle a new awning. I chose the CVT or the cheaper ARB precisely for the black color, but am overall impressed with the quality now that I have it. ARB has a gray bag. I wish the CVT didn't have a big red logo but it's not that bad IMO.
You might be able to see what you need to here:

Re: Ebay Awning? Anyone?

Good eye mate. I know. It's one of the few things that were pretty weathered when I got it that I haven't gotten to yet. It's weird because the canvas is otherwise perfect.
