awnings

Because we fish and camp in the rain here in Oregon, we are contemplating awnings for our E250 EB with penthouse...definitely one for the side barn doors and maybe one for the rear barn doors also. Would appreciate any info about your good and bad experiences, brands, DIY installation, build-your-own, etc. Thanks in advance!

Re: awnings

I modified some brackets to allow for mounting a tarp. Works nicely and was not. Dry expensive. See this thread viewtopic.php?f=13&t=8963&hilit=Awning

Where in Oregon are you? We are in Corvallis.

Re: awnings

I'm planning on getting one of those CVT awnings, much based on your post Eric, have you been able to give it some real life testing?

Re: awnings

Yeah Rick I really like it! I've used it 5 or 6 times now, but not in any significant wind yet. My only, and I mean only complaint is that it is pretty hard to put up/take down without 2 people. I can do it, but I feel like I'm stressing the side arms a little when I do, and sometimes if there is any wind at all it will move on one end while you're addressing the other and I'm sure that looks pretty hilarious to anyone watching when it falls all over you. Hard to explain but you'll know when you get one! If I can help let me know.

Re: awnings

Thanks for the info, will check out the older posts and photos as recommended.

Hey Larrie, Rob & I came from Eugene to see your rig last spring and appreciate the ideas you gave us. We're still working on it.

Re: awnings

Glad to hear that you are still working on it. The fish was wonderful. Thanks again.
