DIY glove box on the door panel

Since i bought my van i wished to have some more storage at the door.

I first take some angle-aluminium, plywood metal grit and glue to bring all in line.

Than i took some layers of fiberglass and filler on it and grind all to a smooth shape

sorry the pictures i made are gone :-(

At least i pint all with topcoat in brown color

here mounted on the door panel. I am thinking to add some top covers on it so the idems in it are prodected from dust and rain.

I lower them a little down in the front so the do not interfere with my feets.

Nice idea and great use of dead space.

Well done Didi !

On my 2010, I already have almost the same glove boxes made by Ford. ;-)

Agreed! Those are really nice for home built, and look to be bigger than the Ford ones, which I have too. A top or cover for them would be nice. The open ones I have collect EVERYTHING! Leaves, crumbs, dust, potato chips , etc.

What ford ones do you have? That would be a great addition to our van.

Re: DIY glove box on the door panel

Door panels are different with new dashboard design, since 2009 I guess. So mine wouldn't fit your doors John.

Thanks Claude, forgot to add who I was asking in that post which was meant for Eric since his van's body style is similar to ours. When we were checking his van out I never looked over the cab so I missed that he had door bins, doh!
