Turn Signal Mirrors

Ok Guys I have been a Lurker for quite a while and need to participate more. So her goes for the 1ST post of several projects I have been working on. I felt the vans were long overdue for some of the cool LED turn signals in the mirrors. Soooo with a special project with Muth ( Several Prototypes) I now have a set of Turn Signal Mirrors. I really appreciate the added visibility, especially with the rear mounted spare. They truely get your attention. My wife even thinks that it will help me to turn the turn signals off even though I can't hear them on the freeway.

Wiring these was a total Pain and I as yet have not wired the Heated accessory.

I may have a few of the sets available in the future.

Re: Turn Signal Mirrors

Nice job Paul. I loved the idea of the heated/turn signal mirrors when I had my F250, so I swapped my paddle mirrors for the heated/turn signal tow mirrors. I always thought the vans were short-changed by not providing the turn signals.

I've thought of doing the swap, but the wiring part of it always put me off. I did swap my mirrors/wide angle mirror on my van to the van tow mirrors.

Re: Turn Signal Mirrors

Hey Paul,
Nice job on the mirrors, they look great.

What kind of tail lights did you install? Are they noticeably brighter than stock?

Re: Turn Signal Mirrors

I got the taillights off Ebay. Just a Little Different. Search e-series taillights, OR E-350, OR EXCURSION they are all the same. The bulbs are the same and I'm thinking about getting the ones with the Dual Light sockets and adding a second set to up the brightness. Some of the Housings come so you can use One or 2 Bulbs. Weren't too expensive about $80 if I can remember. Several different ones so take your time searching.

Re: Turn Signal Mirrors

Are those full mirror replacements, or do you just swap the glass?

I've been wanting some of those for a while. When towing long trailers, my tailights aren't really visible to somebody hovering next to the trailer.

PS - here's another taillight option. I found some LED replacments which I've had on the van for 30,000 miles now, and they work great:

No, but for European use I would just put an amber bulb in reverse light socket, and modify the wiring as necessary. I have not seen anything like them for the Express vans. As you may have discovered, there's just not much aftermarket for the Express lineup.
