Rock Slide Retractable Steps

I've been talking to Steve Bennion at Rock Slide Engineering in Logan, UT about the retractable steps he made for Lance's Disabled Explorers SMB.

Re: Rock Slide Retractable Steps

I forgot to mention these are beefy units--they look like at least 1/8 thick steel. They offer real rocker protection.

Re: Rock Slide Retractable Steps

These fully supported the 11,000 lb WAVE grinding on rocks a number of times.
The built in lights really are nice at night and the build quality is top notch.
And they include a switch to leave them up or down so when you are in camp you can use them as a step into the van or keep them out of the way.

Re: Rock Slide Retractable Steps

Hey Everyone,

I talked to Steve at Rock Slide Engineering a couple of days ago, and everything is ready to go on these. He is just waiting for a total of five of us that are dead serious about purchasing them and he will place the order for the parts and then should have them assembled within a few weeks. According to this thread and past ones there are several people that have shown interest but Steve is still under the impression that just Tom and I are really serious so I am proposing this. All those members who are serious about purchasing some NOW, and are comfortable with the price mentioned previously, please pm me. I will compile the list and present it to Steve and then see if he wants some sort of deposit in advance for them. I will then get back to everyone and tell them how to proceed so that they can send in their deposits or whatever. By the way, for those who can't make the trip to Idaho for the install, he is totally up to shipping them to have installed by the DIYer or your local shop. Steve is anxious to begin production on these so lets show him that the interest is truly there!!

Thanks,

Bill Showalter
