What's this cool switch and green light on my lower dash do?

Oi... just got my new/older truck. STOKED. 2006 RB SMB. Couldn't be more happy about joining this family.

.. and I have no idea what this does... something tells me you folks do though..

That is your 4wd indicator light. Assuming of course that you have 4wd. It should only come on when the transfer case is locked in 4 wheel drive.

Yes, but that doesn't tell you what the switch does. Any extra lights? If you can't find any, wait til dark and flip it up and down a few times. It probably controls some extra lights somewhere inside or out.

Radio switch, compressor switch, battery isolator switch,....?

Maybe SMB can help you out if you know which of the three it came out of.

But yeah, the trail and error method Scotty mentioned is more fun.

On my Salem-Kroger 4wd van the switch activates the vacuum hubs. In 4wd the light comes on, the hubs can be actuated in 4wd or 2wd.

Do you know if the 4wd is SMB, Quigley, Salem-Kroger, Quadvan or other?
