For those of you who are Good Sam members there is an internet special for Gas and Diesel Scan Gauges . I didn't check but it may be worthwhile

Re: Diesel Scan Gauge
^^^ that link doesnt go to anything scangauge related. try this one: http://www.campingworld.com/search/inde ... tk=primary
no one at camping world understands these. so even if you do have a diesel, no one at that place will know that these vans need the non diesel version (they are for the big diesels only). you can tell just by looking at the plug.
also, these are on amazon for this same price and cheaper often without signing up to be a good sam member.

Re: Diesel Scan Gauge
That's right. Unless your van has 18 wheels under it, you DO NOT want the diesel version.
The standard Scan GaugeII handles normal 'civilian-size' diesel engines just fine.
Also it's hard to get a bargain on any Scan Gauge. They keep tight control of their supply chain and enforce a pretty uniform retail price.

Re: Diesel Scan Gauge
BulletProof Diesel sells a ScanGauge preprogrammed for the Ford 6.0 PSD.

Re: Diesel Scan Gauge
What is the best way to go for 2002 7.3 engine monitoring? I have read he threads re Torque Pro, analog, Scangauge. Is there "A" best way or anything to stay away from? Thanks!

If you're just reading the numbers anything will do, the scangauge works fine but it's not the prettiest thing in my van. The torquepro looks nice but you have to have your device out apparently, and it takes up the bluetooth channel, so you cannot also, say, play music through a bluetooth connection to the stereo. I guess it depends on if you want fancy impressive dials or a brick that shows the numbers.

Yes, if you use the Torque Pro you'd have to just get another old phone and use it just for that, otherwise it would be way to much of a pita, and you'd never end up using it.
I like my Scangauge.. as you say, not the prettiest, but it gets the job done, apparently well.

Re: Diesel Scan Gauge
I found mine used on another forum. They're universal so you don't have to buy it for any specific make/model. Theres also the Ultragauge which is about 1/3 of the price of a new scangauge but it doesn't do trans temp.

Re: Diesel Scan Gauge
Yep, I had a scangauge for a couple of weeks in my V10 van, it worked fine, was easy to set up, but it was anything but pretty. I am at a loss as to why no one has come up with a better looking solution, including scan gauge themselves. The Ultragauge looks better but no tranny temp would be a deal killer.
Re torque pro - was thinking a Nexus 7 in the dash would be nice, but just one more complication, huh?

Re: Diesel Scan Gauge
I actually kind of like the way my Scangauge looks above the mirror, held with a Blendmount.
http://store.blendmount.com/scangauge-i ... -p102.aspx
The wire goes right up into the OH console, down inside the A pillar, and right into the OBD2 connector under the steering column.
If I can remember, I'll take a picture when I get home.
