4D Battery Deals?

This is the best I could find:
http://www.apexbattery.com/group-4d-agm ... oCQN3w_wcB

All specifications, size and blade type are right but I can't find much good feedback on this company.

Any other battery deals on 4D out there? I got my current Deka pair in May 2010 for $730 shipped (two 4D batteries). Not seeing much in that price range.

Re: 4D Battery Deals?

For whatever reason, there are several places that sell blem AGMs, etc in San Diego/Spring Valley on Craigslist on a fairly regular basis.

Last December the neighbor and I bought a total of 4 145ah Lucent/Alcatel AGMs for $125 each. They were leftovers from a server farm UPS installation. They are slightly smaller than 4D's IIRC

I have the guy's phone number sharpied on the batteries if you are interested. They came with a 1 year warranty. This guy (and one or two others) sells all sizes, AGM, etc just depends on what they've got at the moment when you call them. They were free delivery as well locally. We were about 100 miles away, but since we bought 4 the guy delivered.

Shipping to Colorado is probably a different story......

Here is an example:

Too funny.....here are the exact batteries that we bought last Dec for $125 each (same seller as above):

Re: 4D Battery Deals?

Quality AGM's are not cheap. Two Group 24 AGM batteries cost me $600 and a sore back from installing them! About twice the price of conventional lead acid batteries. But, if they are kept up they will last 7 years.

Re: 4D Battery Deals?

I know there is a hell of a mark-up on them. If you know a business friend that can purchase them from the manufacture, if he's a good buddy you might might be able to grab a good deal. Another thought is to check the local golf coarse or place that repairs golf carts. Many are going to AGM's.

Re: 4D Battery Deals?

So far I've had good luck with my Sam's Club "Duracell" AGM group 27 batteries. They are made by Deka, and I think only sold east of the Mississippi. Around $150 each. I bought three for less than $500 for a total of 330ah.

Re: 4D Battery Deals?

Bought two of the 175 aH/20hr AGM units. Price was same as you paid plus $10 core.

That's a good deal on those, some friends I sent to Hensley battery in Denver came back with those Duracell labeled Dekas that I installed in their SMB, not sure the price but cheaper than the Deka labeled ones they had. I guess they sometimes get overstock that they put on sale, I went in once when they had HD 27's that were extras from an order, should have stocked up. Have not seen what Costco is carrying in an AGM, if any these days since they dropped optima, but don't think you'll find a 4D there anyway.
