4D Battery quality question

I am in need of replacing my 4D battery on my SMB. I tried searching the forum and could not find the answer.

What brand of AGM 4D battery is the best quality. I would prefer quality over price, but also do not want to just spend more money if it is not a good investment. Also where would you purchase it.

I found a few threads that showed good deals on batteries, but I want a nice quality battery that will last.

Re: 4D Battery quality question

Lifeline or Deka/East Penn(my preference). Deka does private labeling for many other companies, you may see the East Penn info on the case. I know batteries plus carries some form of them, at least here.

Re: 4D Battery quality question

I think that price vs quality is not always black and white. It can depend on how you treat and/or use the battery. It's probably true a high end battery that uses better plate design and better lead can often recover from an incident the battery isn't supposed to be exposed to, but the fact is any battery can be damaged. Loosing a expensive battery can hurt the pocketbook so how you maintain it goes a long way. If you are one who doesn't supply the correct charging and discharging guidelines the manufacture suggests, going with a cheap inexpensive battery that is replaced on an annual basis might be a good choice. They can be a bit difficult to drop out and replace depending on how they're mounted so YMMV. You might be able to find a blemished battery on the cheap. Maybe a Lithium battery if the price doesn't scare you off.
These higher types come to mind:

Lifeline
Deka
Odyssey
Rolls Surrette
Trojan
Sun Extender (Rebadged Lifeline)

There are others that are made by the top companies that are rebadged but generally not in the 4-D group size.
