SMB West radio installation etc

Just wonder what you felt about the contractor(Rob) that comes into the Fresno shop to do the radio and other electronic installations. Have you found his prices to be fair and reasonable? Any other opinions?

Rob and Randy are a team and do great work not to mention they work with SMB's daily so they have the advantage of knowing how to pull the specialized stuff SMB builds apart and put it back the correct way.

Re: SMB West radio installation etc

The key with automotive electrical folks is to make sure that they know that you are happy to spend extra on more wire run (where it's needed) and more conduit/wire looming used where it's a good idea and more time spent on making a good connection at the really right point. -- This is a discipline where it's easy to make it look like you did the right thing at 80+%. But the really right thing is just a bit more, and is really just that much better.

Re: SMB West radio installation etc

Rob and Randy have been working with SMB for over a decade. We had them do some installs (upgraded radio, TV, VCR, CB, security system) in our 2001 SMB and then we took it back for a GPS install when they first became available. Were we back again for another upgraded radio when we wanted satellite radio service. When Alan Feld bought his current factory, Rob closed his retail business and concentrated completely on SMB installs. One huge advantage is that Randy works right in the factory and can install needed wiring, etc., as the build is underway. Good guys to work with...
