does sportsmobile use standard use cabinet build techniques and components across its three locations ?

in particular if anyone can address any of the questions below, it would be helpful.

also any other information is useful too

Are all cabinet hinges the same ? (I have seen both low tech flat screw in hinges and euro style hinges)

Are cabinets built from panels held to together with L brackets ? (not also glued ?)

Are cabinet panels, cabinet shelves and cabinet drawers hand cut and assembled to varying lengths and sizes to accommodate custom layouts ? (are there alignment errors as a result ?)

How are cabinet panels attached to the van walls, ceiling and floor ? (self tapping screws ?)

If work has to be done in the van interior is it easy to remove and reinstall the cabinets to get to the van walls ? (do screw holes strip out ?)

Do owners sometimes install additional L brackets to increase rigidity ?

I can help some having seen several SMBs, but can only be absolutely sure of my own, 95 done by Fresno.

1. No idea, but I think yes.
2. I think the difference in hinges has more to do with vintage than build location.
3. Yes, L brackets, no glue.
4. Yes, as far as I can tell. No alignment issues here.
5. Sportsmobile uses huge L brackets bolted to the floor and then bolted through the cabinet walls. My van, at least, has only a couple of self tapping screws through the van walls. The upper trim and paneling has lots of self tapping screws to the metal wall.
6. I found it very simple to completely dismantle my cabinets to redo my floor, walls, and then use the original cabinet pieces as templates to cut new.
7. I see no need for additional L brackets. There are hundreds holding my cabinets together. I honestly could not believe how many were used by SMB in my original build. I'll try to dig up some pics.

I'm thinking of ordering a van with the cherry cabinet upgrade.

Anyone know about these> Are they solid wood fronts or veneer over plywood?
What are the unseen parts of the cabinets made from? Any MDF or particle board?

My install was finished in March with the cherry finish - it is veneer over plywood and not MDF or solid wood.

Find the cabinetry very solid and tight fitting. As if on a boat.

Any other input on the quality of the cabinets? drawer slides, latches, quality?

Im slowly redoing mine by removing SBM copy and improve material, bonding, attachment, hardware....the stuff they used In my Fresno Back in 06 is as low quality as it gets.

And I'm not that demanding but their work was essentially compress panels with a bunch of angle irons and frequently missized screws. Plastic drawers....

I really like the laminated wood finish but ended up now using Formica because it's much more forgiving with the off-road & dirty, dusty nature of the vehicle.
