Sweet door galley

CCV's new door galley!!
Derek sent me this email....

Those cabinets are 675 plus shipping.
They are 17.5 wide 22.4 high 10 deep and the inside extends 3.2 inches into the door cavity.

Re: Sweet door galley

OK now that's pretty slick and is simple to install with the super clean template.

The only thing is the bottle for the stove would just be hanging and could be a issue.

Re: Sweet door galley

Hey Buck,

Thanks for posting! I'm going to be getting a galley box for my van at some point in the near future. I was planning on getting the Van Specialties one, but this CCV one looks like it has a lot of table space, which I like. I'm assuming you've seen the one's Van Specialties does? They look very high quality and are finished inside and out.

I know from seeing the Van Specialties one in person that it's built like a tank and it doesn't look like anything on it that could rattle. I'm just curious what your thoughts are between the two. Doesn't seem like you could go wrong either way though... I think the Van Specialties galley box is $650 installed, so slightly cheaper. Thoughts?

Re: Sweet door galley

I like both of those!

I think I need the V/S version though because it swings out. I like the look of CCV's, but the fixed mounting will make the table crowd the doorway since my door can't open as far as most due to the dually fender.

I'm not in the market for door cabinets but those first ones look very nice. I like that they are Baltic Burch and not particle board construction. With attaching strips on both sides of the cabinet sandwiched into the door they should be very rugged and no sheetmetal screws to strip over time. Very nice and well constructed.

Re: Sweet door galley

The CCV box wouldn't work on my van, at least not the paper towell holder...my step was built differently than what he's showing. Nice construction though. Too bad it doesn't swing out; that back space is my bar and very handy.

Dave,

Does your SMB have part of the installed floor continue out of the rear-most part of the van step? That's what mine had so I don't think that the towel holder would have worked for me either.

Re: Sweet door galley

Yes and it's a storage area as well although I've heard sometimes it's blocked off. Not sure if it's an old construction standard from SMB or part of the 50 model. I keep my welcome mat in there.

My custom floorplan has that same feature, and I also store my door mat there.
