Re: swamp cooler
this looks like the first swamp cooler I built using a similar container. the only things I would change is use celdek instead of the blue duracool pads. the duracool pads get hard after a few months of use and have to be cleaned to restore cooling effect, also i notice when using poweful fans water will be sucked out of the pads and into the fans causing alot of unwanted noise. Celdek even after 6 months of use are still cooling and the water usually stays on the pads and doesnt get into the fans.
Moving the fans to the top row will increase the space you can use for water, more water equals longer runtime between refills. Also no need for that many intake holes, just 2 or 3 large intake holes should do the trick.
But something that is needed from my own experience is intake and exhaust ducts. trying to tape flexible ducting to a flat surface is not very easy to do.
But this swamp cooler will be a quick 2 or 3 hour project anyone can do, and get some cooling comparable to a swampy without the high cost.
