Partner Steel stove- opinions wanted
Hi,
Now that Leggz and I are tying the knot I have asked her for a Partner Steel 26 inch, 3 burner stove with wind guards, as a welding, oops, wedding present.
My research finds great reviews, but I can't find a website that let's one order the damn stove with any options. I'm sure she'll sort that out. In the mean time please let me know if there is anything better out there. I'm looking for an investment piece that my kids can use so cheap is not the answer.
Your thoughts please team SMB.
Regards,
Gavin

Re: Partner Steel stove- opinions wanted
26" ? 3 burner? Hmmm, that's a lot of cooking "real estate"... we use a single burner at least half the time, and have never felt the need to have anything bigger than the Coleman 2 burner... if we needed the extra burner, could break out the single. Just concerned about the weight/size/ease of a big stove like that. Partner has variety of sizes, still heirloom-quality(as these things go).

Re: Partner Steel stove- opinions wanted
Hi,
Well Leggz likes her pancakes so my griddle with 3 burners would be perfect. Hell I have 24" more storage space in the EB versus the RB so I might as well go for it.
Although my 270 lbs might go down quickly with just one burner. Heirloom quality... I like that phrase.
Regards,
Gavin

Re: Partner Steel stove- opinions wanted
I think Partner Steel does all kinds of custom work. Give them a call. One thing I wish my PS stove had was a closer spacing of the stove top "grate". I have some pots and pans that wobble on the grate and I have to shift them around so they are stable.

Re: Partner Steel stove- opinions wanted
They don't really sell them online, just call them. Super nice folks, and mine was at my door in a couple days.
The top grates they now make closer by default, I think. At least on the 22 two burner I just got.
One thing I'd concern myself on a 26" 3 burner is the size of pots and pans. You'd have to have 8" pans to fit three. That's what I got the wider 2 burner - more room for large cast iron bacon pan.
Great flame control, beautiful welds, really nice product. It's nice to know I never have to buy another camp stove.

Saw Rallypanam's stove in action last weekend. The first time I saw it, I think my first words were something along the lines of "Holy crap, look at those welds!" It's like a work of art.

Re: Partner Steel stove- opinions wanted
The way we talk about PS stoves, we might need a PartnerSteelforum.
But yes, I only welded in high school, which was a long time ago, but I also really appreciate the quality of the welding and workmanship.

Re: Partner Steel stove- opinions wanted
We talked about stoves recently in this thread: http://www.sportsmobileforum.com/vie...p?f=16&t=14019
I ended up with the 22" cook partner and I love it even more every time I use it. I'm sure my sons will too.
Speaking of griddles, Partner Steel makes a pretty nice looking one...

Re: Partner Steel stove- opinions wanted
Ummm, buy her the stove... then you'll get three gifts.
We'll be in the market for a PS soon as our newer Coleman isn't of any quality. We figured we'll oogle over everyone else's at Expo East to determine the size we want.
Congrats!
