Portable Fridge Location

Does anyone here carry an additional refrigerator like an ARB or Engle to supplement the built-in unit in your van? If so, where to you carry it? Is there enough room below the rear bed of a -50 layout? Looks like the smallest ARB is 17" tall...too tall to keep in that particular area? We'd like some additional cold food storage but without the expense of having to move it around a lot...something we can access only when needed so convenience isn't really a concern. Just something to keep extra milk, drinks, veggies, meat, etc during longer trips.

Thanks!

canoe4me did an awesome job IMO and I'm looking on trying to do something similar with a smaller freezer

Re: Portable Fridge Location

Thanks for the link, Dave. That's kind of what I was considering. The smaller National Luna fridge comes in at 20" high. Is that too tall to fit under the rear bed platform? Kinda hard to tell what the floor to bed level height is by pictures.

Re: Portable Fridge Location

Not sure but it looks like a custom fit for that unit. I'd like to have one of those but besides being too large for my needs, man they're expensive. I'm just after something that makes ice but will also double as a backup in case my Norcold goes south. I did find this site that sells slides

More than likely I'll be putting mine behind the bench. It can be moved if I need the lower bed which is more storage than used as a bed.

Re: Portable Fridge Location

I've got a 17" tall cooler & it will not fit under the rear shelf in my RB50.
