Swing down door table

I want to convert my side barn door,(interior part), from a side hinged panel, to a drop down like the front barn door and one at the rear. Without going to SMB is there a source for a look alike hinge and that small stainless cable?

I don't know about the hinges. Maybe you could post a picture?

You can get the cable at Home Depot in the chain and rope aisle. What I got has a green plastic coating, which can be cut off with a razor blade.

I believe somewhere in this post there is info about heavy duty hinges etc: http://www.sportsmobileforum.com/vie...p?f=40&t=15260. It's worth a look.

Re: Swing down door table

More pics for reference. I got everything needed from Lowe's for maybe $10, but already had the birch ply, stain and T-molding. Also, I already had some nylon strap scraps and a snap installation kit.

Instead of a piano hinge I matched the Gate House brand hinges I used for the rest of my cabinets. Works fine. It's a sturdy little table, but if you plan to put anything heavier than a single stove or the like you might want cables on both sides.

Re: Swing down door table

Our side door area is our outside kitchen.

With awning it is all weather.
