New member intro

Allow myself to introduce…myself. I’m the guy that ‘rallypanam’ has been referring to regarding the ’97 2WD SMB he recently purchased.

He and I spent last weekend working on the van - cleaning it and getting all the systems up and running. This morning, it performed quite well at its pre purchase inspection. This afternoon, I secured the funds to purchase it. So, it looks like I’ll be driving my first SMB very soon.

There is nothing that needs to be fixed urgently but there are, of course, a few issues that need to be addressed in the near future. I’ll need to invest in a couple of new house batteries fairly soon. I’ll be doing a few modifications over the next few weeks and will take her camping on Labor Day weekend for the first time.

Thanks for all the great info on this forum and thanks to rallypanam!! I look forward to spending a lot of time on this forum while I should be working.

Welcome to the SMB club!

A warning: This forum can be hard on your wallet. There are so many good ideas and goodies here to add to any SMB.

Thanks for the welcome!

I've seen rallypanam's wallet, and it scares me.

Re: New member intro

Hi,

Welcome aboard.

Some members have spent more on accessories than you may have spent on your entire SMB purchase. You were warned!

Photos of the new-to-you Sporty would be a priority.

Regards,

Gavin

It's only money! You can't take it with you!

Hi,

Other than being a Ford... I like it.

Do not under any circumstances remove that 90's paint stripe. That is a classic.

Enjoy!

Regards,

Gavin

Re: New member intro

I don't mind them too much and it's $600 to have them removed. That's $600 that needs to be spent elsewhere - house batteries, etc. I am, however, considering having them vinyl wrapped over at some point.

There's your problem right there. I think the refrigerant might be leaking out.
