'89 SMB Interior Remodel - Before & After

Hi Guys - Just finished up on a little interior remodel of our '89 SMB. It had this silly little bathtub that was useless, always in the way, and wasted a ton of space. So, finally got a chance to tear that out, along with a tiny bathroom sink & cabinet. It was kinda redundant as we already have a kitchen sink. Anyway - after capping off the plumbing, got a nicely sized 3 Drawer Dresser bolted in and then, using the old material pulled out, repurposed it all to build new cabinetry around the dresser, giving us TONS of new storage and a whole lot of new 'kitchen height' countertop space. Most awesome for preparing meals and such!

Here's the first 3 pics - 'After' pics to follow......

Cheers!

Re: '89 SMB Interior Remodel - Before & After

I'm curious about the original reasons for the "tub". It appears to have a flat surface. Or was that a removable cover? I assume you bought this 2nd hand, so perhaps you don't know.

It did take up a huge amount of space. Good job on the retrofit.

Cheers,
Brent

Re: '89 SMB Interior Remodel - Before & After

Thanks! Yep, I had a removable cover for it and stored a sleeping bag & pillow inside and had luggage on top when traveling. Apparently original owner had it set up with a hand-held shower wand that plugged into the faucet with a complicated shower curtain get up that surrounded the tub.
You couldn't stand and shower - you'd have to sit down on the little seat. Not very practical.
