Approx cost of a SMB conversion 2006-08?
Hi, I'm trying to value a used SMB I'm looking at, based on book value for the van and depreciated conversion cost. Does anyone know the conversion cost between 2006-2008 of a standard SMB floorplan (doesn't really matter which one, just trying to get a ballpark), including PH? Not a 4x4, just the coach and PH conversion. It does not have propane. Thinking maybe somebody still has their build sheet or a brochure laying around.
I see current prices for an EB10 with PH are $30k for the coach part and $7k for the PH, for around $37k total.
Thanks!

I am have nothing to offer, other than to say book value and deprecated costs have little to do with the value of these vans.. They are rare birds, and all individual, and highly sought after.. so the market sets the price on an individual basis.. But depending on condition and what is in the van, I'd say $35k-$50k.

For a 2WD SMB? $50k seems kinda high for a 2006, for example.

But for a 2008 fully loaded 2WD with low miles?

Not sure what it sold for, but back in early Feb there was a 2006 E250 RB with 54k miles in CA for sale for $43,500. It was a V8 gasser full SMB conversion and PH top.

Heres someone selling their EB10(ish) layout on the SMB site. Its a 2wd, low miles, V10, pretty loaded, and they're asking $59k. Prices may be higher here in CA compared to the PA though.

Then heres a 2012 thats not as loaded (that I can see) in IN for $54K...

Thanks folks! I tend to take the prices on the SMB used ads with a grain of salt, as they seem fairly high to me. But, you're right: California prices tend to be higher than East Coast prices.

Re: Approx cost of a SMB conversion 2006-08?
Picked up a 2008 E350 Sportsmobile 2wd 6.0L diesel, 78,000 mi., Penthouse top with all original paperwork. Total cost of van with conversion was $65,000 in 2008. The Diesel option was $7285. Van MSRP $38740. Paid $37,000 4 months ago, excellent condition.
Hope this helps,
Mark
