Someone tried to steal my SMB last night.
Went down to take the van to work this morning. Opened the driver door and noticed that the passenger seat was reclined more than normal. Didn't remember the GF reclining the seat yesterday. Then I notice that the passenger door is unlocked. Aw crap.
Then I tried to put the key in the ignition...

Dang. San Francisco strikes again. I'm glad they didn't get it, but I wonder if they'll be back. Anything missing inside?

Bummer, but at least you still have the van.
Reminds me of the time they punched the ignition on my Ducati. Man was I pissed.

Nothing missing. And they left me the pick they used to break in.

Still have it for now.
Just had my pickup stolen last September.

Here's what they left behind... better than a broken window I guess.

No Kidding......is a fuel pump cut-off switch straightforward and a meaningful theft deterrent?

Re: Someone tried to steal my SMB last night.
Well that sucks. I'm glad they didn't get it, but still, having your property violated is gross. And (no offense, because I loved my 2WD SMB with stripes) you don't even have one of the "super cool" ones loaded with Aluminess and bristling with huge tires. I would have thought you were relatively safe.
I have a friend who lives in the Bay Area and he had TWO crappy/ugly old Saturns stolen (unfortunately the first one with stuff in it that he valued - not that it was valuable to thieves). Who steals crappy old Saturns?
Scary because I had my "classic striped" SMB parked at his place for a couple of weeks last year!
Anyway, I'm really sorry this happened to you.
