Fire story?
Just trolling the web and came across this.:
https://www.iaai.com/Vehicles/VehicleDe ... ecent=True
Sorry if this brings up any bad memories, but when something bad happens, I like to see if there can be a lesson.
Long time reader, but felt compelled to register just to ask the question; Anybody know what happened here?
Thanks

Re: Fire story?
Looks to me like it ran into something tall (back of a truck?). Loss category does say "collision", and it looks like maybe the grill guard was pushed into the radiator, which can cause an oil leak (the fuel source for the fire).
Would definitely be interesting to hear the whole story.

Re: Fire story?
Yowza! Don't recall anyone here reporting that. Hope they all walked away, that being said, not much left to salvage there save for maybe a few Mohave wheels....amazing the damage a fire causes, if it's not from the actual fire, it's the damage caused by the water putting it out or from having to bust through everything to gain access. Some friends had a fire start inside a wall cavity in the restaurant they just opened up, fire fighters had to rip the place apart including punching holes through the roof to gain access and pipe in water, total loss, had to start over from scratch.....

Re: Fire story?
Makes me think the winch wiring and battery might have helped with the fire. The axels , transfer case and rear bumper could be put to use.

Re: Fire story?
Yikes! Looks like the Hi-Lift jack fared fairly well, though.
Hope the owner and passengers got out ok.

Oh yeah, last pic. For that to happen I would think it was a pretty hard impact.
